Marketing yourself and your website--increase traffic and make more money!

I see a lot of good posts online with very good contents. But for some reason they end up with no comments and very little traffic. These same people are rejected or declined from websites that pay you to write because their page rank is 0. It is hard to swallow when rejections are the only things you are getting in your inbox and you worked several hours on it. I might be saying you in this post but what I mean are also me. I am experiencing these same rejections as well. But take heart, I am getting my foot out there and one step at a time I will reach my goal. I plan on marketing and promote myself and my websites.
Marketing and promoting yourself and your website is very important if you want to succeed. Wealth and marketing goes hand and hand. Look at Donald Trump, look how much he promotes himself and look where his at. He got rich doing real estate but what is keeping him on top is how he is marketing himself and his different projects he has started. His shows, books sales, and so on and yes his real estates as well. There are a lot of examples like Martha Stuart. Even though she went to jail, it didn’t matter because she did her marketing very well before her it the cell. When people think of cooking and gardening they think of Martha. So, even a little bad rep doesn’t affect her as much. Look at Oprah; it seems everything she touches turns to gold but it was not like that in the beginning. These people stands as evidence that you’re promoting yourself, your website, your shows, you anything is well worth the effort. If you wrote something exceptionally good and no one knows about you or your writing then you won’t get a single penny for it.
In order to promote your writing or your website (such as in my case), you need to write quality post and you need to write often. This will give you practice as well as build up your portfolio. And you know what they say “Practice makes perfect” and no there is no such thing as perfection but it does help improve your writing skill. It is even better if you write about something you are interested in. If you have a niche it will even be better. If you write about something you are passionate about you will pour your heart into it and it will show on you posts. The more quality content you have the better. It is when you have quality content that your readers would want to come back to your posts. When you have a lot of quality post then the people will come back to visit your website often. That is what you really want because then you will increase your traffic, and then more comments, increase in page rank which leads to more money into your pocket book.
You know what they say now right! After you finish your writing you need to dress it up. No, I don’t mean put fluff into your posts (remember I always stress on quality posts not fluff). What I mean is you need to have a well organized and pleasing to the eye website. Something that catches the reader’s attention and entice them to stay and poke around to see what you have to say. Make it look nice and not too shocking to the eyes and have a clean finish. I personally like tables and widgets because they keep things in nicely boxed. That is another reason why I like frames as well. And yes do have ads on there because these things will bring home some shinny pennies as well. If you know how to use Meta tags and descriptions it’s even better. Try to use key words in your titles and posts.
Now that you have good posts, great and professionally looking website you can now go into full gear marketing. Go join other websites that are related yours and blog carnivals and any where else that you can to promote you website. Get people to review your site and vote and rate your site. Join contests and get your work publishes by those same sites that declined you before. Don’t get discourage when they decline you bounce back and just keep on pushing. It might take ten or hundreds, if this is what you want to do and making money is what’s in your goal plan than yes you have to do what you have to do. But, once you do it and everything is set in motion, open your pocket book and let the cash flow in. I hope you have your plans and goals made out and a check wrote out to me (just kidding). It is when you have a vision /goals that helps motivate you to set steps and plans to reach those goals that you can succeed. Do not think of this as work but rather have fun in what you do and success will come you way. May we all succeed and become successful blogpeneurs!
